Submission of modifications to the Articles The Articles do not need to be updated unless the society makes changes to its name, its organization type under the AHOA, its office location or if organization objects/purposes are modified from the wording in their previous Constitution, Articles and By-laws document. If modifications to the Articles are made, the society will be required to submit the original wording and the modified wording to OMAFA on the following form Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act – Application for Amendment click here

New Information Regarding the requirement of incorporation numbers in Transfer Payment Ontario (TPON), note that this platform does not require incorporation numbers for agricultural societies. The TPON platform is primarily utilized for the submission of annual returns. The platform relies on existing information such as society name, address, and CRA number (if available) to complete the online application.
OMAFRA has designated a dedicated staff member to respond to inquiries and provide any necessary documentation to confirm a society’s eligibility, thereby supporting societies in accessing funding opportunities without the need for incorporation numbers as a prerequisite.
Furthermore, OMAFRA and the Ontario Trillium Foundation have agreed that
agricultural organizations can input “999999” in the specified ‘Incorporation Number’ field when applying for grants. This process has proven effective in facilitating prompt verification and supporting societies in accessing funding opportunities. Additionally, we are exploring options for the establishment of a searchable public-facing database of AHOA non-profit entities.
